Suzanne Cook is much more than an interior designer. She is an architectural and technical designer, expert in all aspects of New York City residential and commercial design/builds. With more than 20 years of experience, this accomplished designer and lifestyle expert is an invaluable resource to her luxury home-design clients.
She also brings deep product knowledge to every project. In 2005, with her husband, developer Bill Cook, Suzanne co-founded Atmosphere—NYC’s premier full-service architecture, interior design, and home renovation firm with an extensive product showroom on the Upper West Side. The 4,000-sq.-ft. showroom gives Suzanne advantages most interior designers can’t match: one-stop shopping for busy clients; top options for NYC spaces and lifestyles; and a setting that makes it easier to envision how elements look together. With over 300 brands from cabinetry to custom upholstery, the space serves as a design library, educating clients on what’s new in every category of the home.
Skilled in maximizing urban NYC spaces, Suzanne knows the right floor plan is key to success, offering each client a customized design. She is also well versed in what works and what doesn’t for the many types of NYC housing, from pre-war apartments to industrial lofts to classic townhomes. To bring clients’ dreams to fruition, she often joins forces with sister company ACNY Developer, the construction firm established by her husband Bill in 1989, to take projects smoothly from concept to completion.
With a special focus on beautiful, high-functioning homes with the kitchen at their heart, Suzanne creates warm, timeless, and tailored designs with whimsical flair. Clients value her clear communication, strong style sense, and creative problem-solving. And as a mom herself, she understands families’ needs for spaces perfect for both entertaining and everyday life, down to the finest details.
Suzanne’s passion for all things design and love for Manhattan living began when she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and worked in the Garment District. A career opportunity at Hearst Magazines then immersed her in the world of high-end interior design, where she built relationships with top luxury home brands. Her next move, to New York Home magazine, honed her appreciation for distinctively New York interior styles.
Today she lives with husband Bill, their two children, and Portuguese Water Dog Ruby on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

Originally from Queens, Bill grew up in the construction industry. After earning a degree in Accounting and Finance from CUNY College, he launched his first company, American Construction of NY, in 1989.
Today he lives on the Upper West Side with wife Suzanne, their two children, and their Portuguese Water Dog, Ruby.
